Day 7: to Filandia (99 miles)

Our morning portion of the day's ride was on paved road. Riding speeds were higher than on dirt roads and our riding clothes dried out. At one point we came to a stop where police were stopping all vhehicles to record their license numbers. We had to clean the mud off our license plates since they were unreadable. The police were super friendly and wanted to take their picture with us.

Later we stopped in the late morning at a place with a view for a snack.

We stopped at lunch at a restaurant with a good view. In the picture you can see darkening storm clouds in the distance. During lunch we watched the lightening. After lunch we had to stop and put on rain gear. The rain was only moderate. But after getting off the highway onto dirt roads we hit a short section of several kilometers with very bad mud.

here is a picture of a family on a motorcycle. The little girl is asleep. We saw a lot of families traveling on motorcycles, dirt and paved roads, on this trip.

After the mud section we hit pavement again, gassed up the bikes, and came to our hotel for the night, a horse ranch for tourists to experience horse riding in the mountains and off the beaten track.

Tomorrow is our final ride back to Cali. The day after that we all fly home.
